•Fort Tejon’s Frontier Army Days Dragoon Program is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Don’t miss this guided tour into living history as costumed guides help you explore the most western outpost of the U.S. Army in 1856. Visit its working blacksmith shop, see open-hearth cooking, candle-making and more, with displays of 1850s army barracks life and artillery drills (take I-5 to about 5 miles north of Frazier Park at the Fort Tejon exit).

•Grand Opening for the Pine Mountain Health Center is today, 12–4 p.m. (16233 Askin Drive, #A, Pine Mtn. Village). New services available will include primary health care, physicals, lab testing, splints/casts/sutures, First Aid and CPR classes and more.

•Antelope Valley Area Plan Update public comment period is open through today on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). See the DEIR at http://planning.lacounty.gov/tnc; call 213.974.6476 for more info. Comments will be incorporated into the Final EIR.

•The second total lunar eclipse in the tetrad, occurring in six-month intervals, is today. The red moon of the total eclipse will be visible from 3:27–4:22 a.m., PDT.

•Kern County Veterans Stand Down, 8 a.m.–3 p.m. provides a safe retreat and information on many veterans’ services available such as health screenings, assistance with vet and social security benefits, career services, housing assistance, free clothing and hair cuts, legal assistance and much more (Stramler Park, 3805 Chester Avenue, Bkfld).

•Peak to Peak Mountain Charter’s Cardio-A-Thon begins at 1 p.m. at Lampkin Park, Pine Mountain. Sponsor a student to run, skip or walk around the baseball diamond to support your local charter school.

•FMHS Homecoming Game is tonight—don’t miss the excitement in the game with Cal City. Falcon JV plays at 4 p.m.; parade is 7 p.m.; varsity game follows (700 Falcon Way, Lebec). The Falcon Homecoming dance follows the game, to 11 p.m.
