•Annual Pumpkin Patch supports Frazier Park School’s students. The ‘patch’ will be open Monday–Friday, 7:45–8:10 a.m., 2–6 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. All pumpkins (any size) are $4, or get 3 pumpkins (any size) for $10.

•The historic Fox Theater (2001 “H” St., Bakersfield) hosts the Outside the Box Film Festival, Nov. 7–9. This is a power punch of three days and 50 films not to be missed. All-day passes are $10; 3-day passes are $20. See film synopses at bakersfieldfilmfest.com.

•Start preparing your photo submissions for the Mountain Youth Photo Contest. Applications are due by December 1. See application on page 22.
