Saturday, January 3
• Fort Tejon’s Frontier Army Days Dragoon Program is 10 a.m.– 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to view the living history demonstrations of pioneer life for the common soldier and civilian men, women and children at this mountain outpost. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for ages 7-17. Children 6 years and under are free. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch (the park has no concessions) and enjoy the picnic tables under the big oak trees (4201 Fort Tejon Road, Lebec, about 5 miles north on the Interstate 5, off at the Fort Tejon exit).
•Enjoy Pizza and Purchase Your Favorite Photographs at the opening of the Mountain Youth Photo Contest gallery show, 5 p.m. at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane #203, Pine Mountain Village). All proceeds benefit the young artists. The public is invited.

• The Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking and Magdelene Hope invite you to attend the premiere of a locally produced documentary, “The Trafficked Life,” a film by Michael Fagans at Maya Cinemas (1000 California Avenue, Bakersfield ) with show times at 6 and 7:45 p.m. Tickets of $20 (at www.kcaht.org or http://thetraffickedlife.org) include one showing of the film and entrance to an art exhibit, silent auction, live music, resource fair, hor d’oeuvres by De Coeur Bake Shop and a discussion with trafficking survivors and subject experts featured in the film.
