ISSUE RESOLVED—Verizon Wireless sporadically dropping service

PINE MOUNTAIN CLUB, CA (Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 at 1:45 p.m.)—Verizon Wireless has confirmed that its network is “sporadically” down in many areas of Southern California today from Pine Mountain Club and Santa Clarita through Riverside and Long Beach. The support representative we spoke with said, “I can give no specifics, but usually this is resolved in 24 hours.” The representative said, “At this point the cause isn’t specific; it’s down for maintenance. It will be up and running soon.” When The Mountain Enterprise commented that it is unlikely this system was designed to deprive so many customers as “routine maintenance,” he said, “You’re right, that is just what they tell us.”

Some phones in Pine Mountain Club are down, while others are working, according to customers contacted by The Mountain Enterprise. It is unclear as to whether Verizon phones in the Frazier Park area are affected. The Verizon customers we checked with in Frazier Park had cell service.
