Veterans Day is Nov. 11 — Ceremony in Frazier Mountain Park at 11 a.m.

By Richard Sheffield, Vets for Trees

Our community’s annual Veterans Day event at Frazier Mountain Park begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Everyone is invited to join in the barbecue and the ceremony. It will be held at the Cody Prosser Memorial, near the pond.

Local veterans with the VFW will present the colors. We will have guest speakers, community input and then we will plant another Veterans for Trees memorial tree, adding to our expanding Grove of Honor around the memorial in Frazier Mountain Park.

A free hot dog and hamburger barbecue will begin right after the ceremony, so veterans, patriots and their families can visit together in fellowship and celebrate the service and sacrifice of both our veterans and their families.

Frazier Park Market is donating meat, buns and trimmings. Please bring a salad, beans or dessert to share. To volunteer or contribute to the potluck, contact Richard Sheffield, Antioch Nursery at veteransfortrees@yahoo.com.
