VFW Commander Gil Valenzuela has died

It is with great sadness that we report a message from VFW Post 9791 Quartermaster Ben Loveless Tuesday morning, Dec. 14, to confirm that Gilbert “Gil” Valenzuela, Commander of VFW Post 9791, Frazier Park, “passed away Monday night at 8:10 p.m. from complications of covid-19 and pneumonia.”

Valenzuela had been in an induced coma on a ventilator to assist with breathing for about a month. The family and medical advisors made the decision Monday to take him off the ventilator that evening, his friend Ian…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
