We don’t play teams with girls; Santa Maria school refuses to play FMHS

A high school in Santa Maria has said it will not play Frazier Mountain High School’s varsity football team because FMHS has a female player, whose name is not being mentioned in this story.

Last week, FMHS Athletic Director Christy Zimmerman told The Mountain Enterprise that a parent had sent her a news article about Valley Christian Academy in Santa Maria refusing to play Cuyama Valley High School’s football team because Cuyama had a girl playing on its team in the wide receiver position.

The Falcons were scheduled to play Valley Christian Academy in Santa Maria on September 9, so Zimmerman decided to contact them about the article.
