You Are Invited to a Spring Break Party for All Ages

By Michelle Nosco, Arts for Earth

On Wednesday, April 20 mountain storytellers, artists and musicians, along with experts in resources for your garden, hobbies, animals, the environment and family recreation will be waiting for you in Frazier Mountain Park. Arts For Earth has planned an amazing line-up to entertain, engage and make you smile.

The theme for our second annual Earth Day Celebration is “Pass it Forward…to the next generation.” Kids, parents, seniors, singles—all are invited to enjoy fun, earth-friendly ways to live together on our mountain.

Of Course, a Parade (Wednesday, April 20 at 11 a.m. in Frazier Mountain Pari)

Of course it starts with a walking, hopping, strolling laughing parade around the park with all its new walkways at 11 a.m. Dress in Earth Day theme costumes—or come as you are. We’ll meet by the pond, parade through the park, plant a tree with Veterans for Trees, go on a historical walking tour with the Ridge Route Communities Museum & Historical Society. At 12:30 p.m. free refreshments bring the celebration inside the community center.

You are invited to work on arts and craft projects with the Arts for Earth Nature Club. Listen to cool stories about the Chumash, pioneers and wilderness adventures. Bring your old ball caps, tennis shoes and Tshirts to learn ‘recycl’art’ painting. There is plenty for adults and children of all ages to do!
