Progress of the grass fire at bottom of the Grapevine stopped

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Friday, Aug. 4, 2023 at 6:30 a.m.)—Overnight, the forward progress of the Edmonston fire was stopped at approximately 10 acres, according to Kern County fire officials.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 9:42 p.m.)—CHP reported Caltrans was preparing for a hard closure of southbound lanes.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 8:01 p.m.)—Bulldozer teams are en route.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 7:59 p.m.)—Firefighting aircraft are over the Edmonston fire.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 7:47 p.m.)—CHP has opened lanes 1 and 2.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 7:36 p.m.)—CHP has shut down all southbound lanes of I-5.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 7:35 p.m.)—A brush fire broke out along the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 a few minutes after 7 p.m. and has grown to more than 15 acres while climbing up a hillside. CHP reports the fire is located just north of Grapevine Road.
