Will VFW have to close? — All veterans invited to meet ‘n’ greet: Saturday, Mar. 12, 11 a.m.

The Frazier Park Veterans of Foreign Wars—VFW Post 9791­—has been a pillar of Mountain Community life for 75 years. Now it is in a moment of crisis—but perhaps also a moment of opportunity.

The VFW offers scholarships to students, aid to the ailing and assistance to all veterans in need. They offer Bingo Nights for local fun and VFW Pancake Breakfasts for Fiesta Days. They hold ceremonies at the Cody Prosser Veterans Memorial and proudly carry flags in local parades.

But the recent deaths of four longtime VFW supporters­ left current officers not just grieving the loss of good friends, but also asking if VFW Post 9791 will be able to continue their many services to the community.

Service Is Our Goal—Politics is Not Part of the VFW
