Women and Girls’ leadership grants — Nonprofits invited to submit letters of intent by Nov. 8

The Kern Community Foundation’s Women and Girls’ Fund (WGF) will award up to $50,000 in grants for education and training this year. Nonprofits are invited to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) to compete for grant funding by November 8 at 5 p.m.
The online grants platform is at kernfoundation.org/grants.

The foundation “values social change grant-making that emphasizes long-term solutions to societal problems facing women and girls in all parts of Kern County,” the announcement says.

The WGF Vision Committee Vice Chair Cathy Bennett said the fund’s grants committee “is always impressed and inspired by the breadth and depth of service our local nonprofits provide, which always makes it hard to choose our grant recipients.”

After evaluating the letters, the committee will invite selected agencies in early December to submit full grant applications. The maximum individual award is $25,000, and the total to be awarded is $50,000.
