House Burns in Digier Canyon

FRAZIER PARK, CALIFORNIA (Friday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 7:31 a.m.)–Report from Kern County Fire Department: A call was received for a structure fire on Digier Rd. this afternoon around 1PM. Upon arrival crews found a 2 story house with smoke and flames showing. The access to the structure was difficult due to snow and the need for 4-wheel drive. Downed power lines also hampered suppression efforts by fire crews. An exterior attack was initiated due to the rapid spread of the fire. All occupants and pets were safely outside when crews arrived. Additional man-power was requested due to the need for extensive overhaul of the structure. The fire unfortunately destroyed the home.

 

FRAZIER PARK, CALIFORNIA (Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at 2:20 p.m.)–A house in the 7000 block of Digier Canyon, Lebec was lost to fire this afternoon. The call was received just after 1 p.m. and the house was fully-involved as fire crews arrived, according to Kern County Fire Department public information personnel, who said access to the area was made difficult by snow conditions on the dirt road, with four-wheel-drive vehicles required.
