Traffic Report: Interstate 5 – Grapevine Reopened but drama continues

UPDATE –LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 9:05 a.m.) — The Grapevine is reopened, but drama continues for drivers. The southbound Frazier Mountain Park Road offramp from the I-5 was blocked by a stalled bigrig at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. CHP and tows are clearing the mattter now.

Remember to drive slowly and very carefully on these mountain roads where snow and ice will linger this week. 

UPDATE –LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at 6:30 a.m.) — The Grapevine has been reopened for traffic in both directions.

LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at 5:10 p.m.) — CHP reports that Highway 33 South to Ojai is closed at Lockwood Valley Road due to snow conditions.

LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at 4:45 p.m.) — CHP has closed Interstate 5 over the Grapevine in both north and south directions until further notice, due to snow and ice conditions. No estimate was given for re-opening. Travelers are advised to expect extended delays.

LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at 4:07 p.m.)– California Highway Patrol is preparing to close the Grapevine (Interstate 5) over Tejon Pass as snow has begun to stick on the roadway. Northbound lanes are being closed at Smokey Bear Rd. Southbound lanes are normally closed at the bottom of the hill at the Grapevine Road exit.
