LEBEC (Thursday, May 6, 2010, 12:20 p.m.)—The location of the ETUSD school bus stop in Lebec has been changed effective Friday, May 7, according to Principal Dena Kiouses. The new bus stop is at Wild At Heart Nursery at 2101 Lebec Road. Mountain lions have been sighted in the area around the current bus stop. The change is meant as a precaution. In general, mountain lion sightings have increased in the Lebec area this week. The times are:

Frazier Park School: Pick up time is 7:26 a.m. Route 52 at Wild at Heart. Drop off time is 2:40 p.m. Route 62 at Wild at Heart

El Tejon School: Pick up time is 8 a.m. Route 52 at Wild at Heart. Drop off time is 3:02 p.m. Route 55 at Wild at Heart. 

Families are alerted not to leave small children and domestic pets unattended outside. While there have been no reports of lion attacks on humans in this area, there have been numerous tragic incidents involving young mountain lions and domestic dogs and cats. Please keep your dogs on leash and do not allow them to wander.
