A crew of about eight, including students, a parent, a head coach and a community organizer were tackling the job of painting Frazier Mountain High School’s workout room at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20.
When Larry Skiba made appeals to the community, through an Op-Ed story in The Mountain Enterprise, assistance began flowing in to reupholster old equipment, acquire new equipment, replace the sound system, paint the walls and clean up the facility.
Contributions of materials and labor have been made by Ace Hardware, Alpine Lumber, Rotary Club, Moose Lodge, Ralph Wernli of Pine Mountain Upholstery, Tejon Ranch Company and numerous individuals.
“We’ll finish the painting this week, get the floor cleaned up and bring in the rest of the reupholstered equipment,” Skiba said with excitement.
