Workshop on opening your own cottage industry and local farmers markets Saturday, April 20

By Linda Robredo, GDF
On April 20 a workshop on farmers markets and cottage industries will be held at the Frazier Park Library’s community room, 1-3 p.m.

Kern County’s Departments of Environmental Health and Agriculture will present the “How to be legal and start your own micro-business” workshop. They will also talk about growing and distributing food crops, eggs, honey and more.

We will learn about launching a local Frazier Park Farmers Market. Bring your willingness to give it a go. Pick up applications at the workshop to grow your business dream. We can do this together.

Scholarships given
In other news, Green Dragon Farms’ Community Scholarship committee is proud to congratulate our 2013 scholarship recipients: Christian Brown, Joy LeBaron, Kalie Morgan, Copp Collins IV and Josue Lopez.

We hope to receive grant funds to offer 10 more high school students scholarships this year.
