Report by Community Reporter Dirk Edmundson—On Thursday, Nov. 3 at about 2:30 p.m. a big rig carrying cartons of wine went off the northbound Interstate 5 just before the Quail Lake exit. It appeared that the driver had been traveling in the slow lane and ran the tractor onto the shoulder, coming to a stop and causing the trailer to jackknife and flip down onto the frontage road. CHP responded to close down northbound lanes, allowing traffic to pass through only one lane while the clean up was underway. The frontage road was blocked. This photo was taken about 3 p.m.

It appeared that the driver was not injured, and no other vehicles became involved, although traffic was backed up on the I-5 and some cars were unable to proceed on the frontage road.
