LEBEC, CA (Monday, Oct. 31, 2011 at 9 p.m.)— A Lebec man notified The Mountain Enterprise and authorities yesterday that he had noticed a body in the aqueduct off of Edmondson Road on Sunday, Oct. 30.

This evening the Kern County Coroner’s office released a statement identifying Mandeep Singh, 30 of Delano. They said he was found at 9:33 a.m. Sunday in the aqueduct at 39000 Edmonston Pumping Plant Road. The coroner says Singh was reported missing on October 29 by family: "He was last seen on October 26, 2011. A vehicle and body were located in the aqueduct on October 30. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue personnel assisted in the extrication of both. The decedent was positively identified by fingerprints on October 31 as the missing person. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1 to determine cause of death.
