Community Reporter Finn Myggen was coming home late on Frazier Mountain Park Road Friday evening. As he headed past Lake of the Woods and into Cuddy Valley about 9 p.m. “heading downhill where all the snow bunnies park,” he reports he saw a Volvo 740 [now reported as a blue Honda Odyssey] heading east. It hit a big bear, “I think 350-400 pounds,” he says. Myggen reports “the bear was killed on the spot, the Volvo was probably a total loss. Fortunately no people were hurt. The Sheriff arrived at about 9:30 and they contacted Fish & Game. The driver said he was going 55 and tried to stop.”

Motorists are warned that there wildlife are crossing roads throughout this region, seeking food and water during this drought. Please drive slowly and stay attentive.
