Ceremony for Fallen Soldiers Planned for Memorial Day

By Lester Arterburn, Commander V.F.W. Post 9791 Frazier Park

Memorial Day is a sacred day to all war veterans. America’s collective consciousness demands that all citizens be reminded of the wartime deaths of their fellow countrymen. By honoring the nation’s fallen soldiers, we preserve their memory and thus their service and sacrifice.

The VFW and V.A.L.O.R. will be holding Memorial Day services at the Cody Prosser Veterans Memorial at the park Monday, May 28.

Services start at 10:00 a.m. There will be an opening prayer and a guest speaker, time for rememberance and an open-mic time for anyone who wishes to say something, followed by our closing services. Everyone in our community is asked to come to show your support.

All U.S. flags should be displayed at half-staff during the morning hours. At noon, they should be raised back to full-staff.
