This year’s Chalk Art Street Painting Festival brought 12 contestants together at “Le Coffee Cantina” on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Frazier Park.

The artists’ talents were displayed in bright colors across the asphalt, along the drivethrough area of the Cantina, in front of the Work of HeArt Gallery.

Tied for the first place prize were Eliana Parker for her “I Love Frazier

Park” doodles and Sierra Kerr’s “Bird of Paradise” animé character. Second place was taken by Marie Bogdanoff for her purple robin

Honorable mentions went to two artists: Angelie Seprish and Donny Bowen.

All contestants received art supplies as awards.

This was the 11th Annual ChalkArt Festival. It has grown into a tradition that is as old—or older—than some of the contestants.

This is part of the October 07, 2011 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
