CHP officers and KCSO deputies searching in Lebec for wanted man

LEBEC, CA (Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:55 p.m.)—The subject was last seen east of the freeway, north of El Tejon School, headed east into the mountains of Tejon Ranch.

LEBEC, CA (Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.)—By 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the 50-year-old male subject had not been located. Anyone seeing the man in the Lebec area should call 9-1-1 and not approach him.

LEBEC, CA (Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.)—An Orange County man with warrants on numerous charges was the target of an ongoing search Saturday at Fort Tejon State Historic Park.

California Highway Patrol requested assistance from Kern County Sheriff’s deputies beginning Friday morning when a vehicle became disabled and a man who ran from the vehicle into the state park turned out to be wanted in County of Orange on felony warrants for attempted vehicle theft, possession of drugs for sale, possession of narcotics for sale, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools and being under the influence of drugs.

Kern County’s Air One helicopter was dispatched Saturday evening, and a Kern County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit arrived shortly after to assist in the search.

CHP Sergeant Joe Phipps told The Mountain Enterprise that the man is described as a 50 year old white male, last seen wearing a black shirt, jeans and glasses.

Temperatures in the Frazier Park/Lebec areas are forecast to be in the 29 to 37 degrees range tonight.
