Falcons’ Dream Season Comes to a Close

LEBEC, CA (Friday, May 24, 2013 at 6 p.m)—The Falcons baseball team wrote history with their 12-0 championship run this year in undefeated league play, then made it into the third rung of division playoffs by defeating the defending Division 6 champions. But Frazier Mountain High School’s playoff track came to an end this afternoon in their third playoff game. “This has been the best season in 20 years of coaching for me,” said Jerry Quick, “they are great kids.”

Quick said the team held Capistrano Valley Christian High School to a 0-0 draw for three innings, but then the visiting team pulled away for an 18-0 romp.

“We really experienced ‘the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat,’today,” Quick said. He has great news to deliver to the team at Wednesday’s Sports Banquet.

Eight of the 9 starters were named to the High Desert League’s All-League top team.
The stands were crowded with cheering fans this afternoon, who gave the team a standing ovation.
