Firefighters Check on Flare-Up Above Digier Canyon

LEBEC, CA (Sunday, July 28,2013 at 4:14 p.m.)—Reports that fire and smoke may have flared up over in the Water fire area caused the need to call on resources still mopping up after the Rancho fire this afternoon, Sunday, July 28. Both of those fires threatened Digier Canyon this month.

A strike team from the Rancho fire was at the bottom of Digier Canyon near Fort Tejon, appearing to be waiting for further orders. A water tender truck crossed onto some dirt roads on private property north of Digier Canyon Road, up onto a ridge that was near Tejon Ranch property and down the north face of the ridge. Kern County Helicopter 407 assisted with water drops to extinguish the flareups.
