Frazier Mountain High School on Lockdown for CHP Arrests at Flying J

UPDATE—LEBEC, CA (Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at 11 a.m.)—Lockdown at Frazier Mountain High School was lifted after about 10 minutes. The fugitive were quickly apprehended while still on the Flying J Travel Center property.

LEBEC, CA (Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.)— At about 8:51 a.m. California Highway Patrol stopped a northbound vehicle on Interstate 5. The driver fled during the traffic stop, got onto southbound I-5 and took the Frazier Park exit with CHP in pursuit. The fleeing vehicle stopped at the Flying J on Frazier Mountain Park Road. The occupants exited and fled the vehicle.

Frazier Mountain High School (which is adjacent to the Flying J property) was alerted and the schoolrooms were placed in lockdown mode. Within about 10 minutes both occupants of the vehicle were apprehended and arrested. The school was in lockdown for only about 10 minutes, school administrative assistant Donna Van Hooser stated, relaying the message from site administrator Sara Haflich.
