Iraq Veteran from Arkansas Found Dead on Gorman Post Road

    L.A. County Sheriff?s homicide investigators arrive at the scene where commuting mountain residents reported glimpsing a man at the side of the road Tuesday, May 20 on Gorman Post Road.

UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. L.A. County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators have informed The Mountain Enterprise of the man’s identity. His name is Paul Huie, of Benton, Arkansas.  See the full story in Thursday morning’s edition of The Mountain Enterprise.

UPDATE: 1:30 p.m. L.A.County Sheriff’s deptuies confirm the man is a resident of Arkansas, according to his identification. The identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

LEBEC, May 20, 2008, 11:38 a.m. The body of an unidentified man has been found two miles south of Gorman at the side of the northbound lane of Gorman Post Road. The body is lying next to a vehicle—a red (approximately) 2005 Toyota pickup with Arkansas license plates— about one mile south of the Gorman sign.

The man is described as about 30 years of age, with close-cut reddish brown hair, without a beard. He is neatly dressed, wearing blue jeans and a green and white horizontally striped polo-shirt.

The Mountain Enterprise is on the scene to report at this time and will update as new information is available. L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies have arrived and have taped off the area. They are awaiting arrival of homicide detectives and the L.A. County Coroner.
