Jazzberry Sam and the Preserves Win Applause

By Patric Hedlund

The mellow instrumental core of Jazzberry Sam and the Preserves, Brendan Coyle’s quartet, The Preserves will be playing this Friday, Jan. 11, 8-11 p.m. at the Industry Cafe and Jazz Restaurant (6039 Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232).

Jazzberry Sam and the Preserves played to a standing room only crowd Friday, Jan. 4 at the Work of HeArt Gallery in Frazier Park. Their riffs on a cool, classic jazz songbook earned enthusiastic applause and demand for an encore, including a drum solo by Wolf Finn.

Finn and Coyle are Frazier Mountain High School graduates studying music at College of the Canyons and earning names for themselves with their focus on sophisticated jazz.

This is part of the January 11, 2013 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
