Edison’s planned outage canceled while PG&E tells CHP power will be shut off north to Laval Road all night

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at 4:37 p.m.)—Pacific Gas & Electric has notified CHP that it will shut down all power north of the CHP Fort Tejon Office through Laval Road, possibly all night. A reason for the shutdown was not immediately available.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 at 3:59 p.m.)— Southern California Edison responded to The Mountain Enterprise with the following statement after we asked them about the conflicting and confusing information put out through alerts: “The scheduled outages today and tomorrow have been canceled due to the strong wind event that may cause Public Safety Power Shutoffs in high fire risk areas across our service territory. Since the weather conditions are continually changing, the decision was made last night to cancel these outages and the notification system wasn’t updated in time to notify customers. We apologize for this inconvenience and will continue to review our notification process to make improvements to reduce the likelihood of this occurring again.”

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at 4:30 p.m.)—Southern California Edison (SCE) has announced a “maintenance power outage scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.” Edison said power “may be” turned off due to fire risk weather conditions on Wednesday. Pine Mountain Club residents and Frazier Park businesses have confirmed for The Mountain Enterprise that the alerts were received on Tuesday.
