LEBEC, CA–(Monay, April 21, 2014 at 2:22 p.m.)—This Missing Person announcement was circulated this afternoon, about a missing man who may be in the Lebec area:
Missing Person
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating Wesly Wachob Jr., also known as Michael Smith. Wachob Jr. is from Florida. He was arrested in the Lamont area on March 31st, 2014 for being under the influence of a controlled substance and booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility. His vehicle was located abandoned on April 2nd, 2014 in the area of Highway 99 and Highway 166 and towed to a storage yard.
His family has not had contact with him since his release from jail on April 2. Wachob, Jr. told family members he was traveling to California to hike in the Lebec area. He may suffer from mental health issues. If anyone has information on his whereabouts they are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 661-861-3110 or Secret Witness at 661-322-4040.
