New Animal Control Director Named for Kern

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at 4:50 p.m.)–Jen Woodard of Los Angeles-based Best Friends Pet Adoption Center and Spay/Neuter Clinic has been appointed as Kern County Animal Control Director, effective October 1.

Woodard was selected after a nationwide search identified her as a candidate who had managed the start-up and rapid expansion of the "no-kill" facility, which saved more than 400 dogs and cats from euthanasia and performed more than 800 spay/neuter surgeries from January through June 2012.
