News Alert: I-5 Freeway Closures at Castaic Monday through Friday

FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 25) — Caltrans announced today a revision in its freeway closure announcement from last week.

SCHEDULED I-5 FREEWAY CLOSURES MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY (Revision)

The  following  is a revision of the scheduled freeway closures for the I-5
Freeway southbound and northbound near Hasley Canyon Road:

     Traffic  to  exit  S/B  I-5 at Hasley Cyn exit instead of Lake Hughes exit.

Previously reported I-5 Freeway closures remain in effect.

FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (Thursday, Aug. 21) — Caltrans announced today that full freeway closures of Interstate 5 at Hasley Canyon Road will result in detours which exit at Lake Hughes Road for southbound traffic and at Highway 126 West for northbound traffic. Some closures will be partial, involving only two lanes.

I-5 freeway closures are scheduled at Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic as follows:
• Southbound I-5 freeway closures from 11:59 pm to 5:00 am:
• Monday, August 25, 2008
• Tuesday, August 26, 2008
• Thursday, August 28, 2008
• Friday, August 29, 2008

There will be full freeway closures in one direction of the freeway and 2 lanes in the opposite direction simultaneously. The detour for the southbound I-5 traffic will exit at Lake Hughes Road off-ramp, south on The Old Road to the southbound Route 5 on-ramp, north of Rye Canyon.

• Northbound I-5 freeway closures from 11:59 pm to 5:00 am:
• Tuesday, August 26, 2008
• Wednesday, August 27, 2008
• Thursday, August 28, 2008

There will be full freeway closures in one direction of the freeway, and 2 lanes in the opposite direction simultaneously. The detour for the northbound traffic will exit at 126 west; south on Commerce Center Drive; east on Henry Mayo Drive; north on The Old Road to the northbound Route 5 on-ramp, at Lake Hughes Road.

The purpose of the freeway closures are for the demolition of the existing Hasley Canyon Bridge. Changeable message signs will be posted to guide motorists throughout the detour. Also, CHP officers will be present at the site to assist motorists as necessary.
