Smoke is from fires north, but Castaic fire was slowing southbound I-5

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at 12:32 p.m.)—Traffic is again flowing through the fire area. CHP’s incident has been closed.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at 12:09 p.m.)—A fire in the Castaic area started at 8:30 a.m. and is hampering southbound Interstate 5 traffic. We will update this report shortly.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at 9:45 a.m.)—The strong accumulation of smoke in the Mountain Communities is from fires north of the Frazier Park area. Currently the Mountain Communities are receiving wind from the northwest, which is bringing smoke into the local area from fires up north. There are no fires currently reported to be burning in this area.
