By Kat Fair, Mountain Shakespeare Festival
If you’re looking for a delightful and cool evening under the stars, be the first to see the opening show of our “Every Weekend in July” summer season. On Friday, July 3, the Mountain Shakespeare Festival will host a champagne opening for Shakespeare’s rollicking comedy, “Twelfth Night.” Festivities will begin at 7:30 p.m., with an 8 p.m. curtain.
Kim Bucio, former owner of the renowned Sage and Cinnamon restaurant, will cater the event.
The $20 ticket will include the outstanding evening show in the newly renovated Pine Mountain Village Gazebo, a complimentary glass of champagne and delicious desserts before the show and during intermission. After the show, the actors will join the party.
To reserve your seats, call 242-6904 or purchase tickets at www.mountainshakes.org.
And if you have so much fun you want to do it again, plan to join us for the champagne opening of The Foreigner by Larry Shue on Friday, July 10. The first public performance of this comedy will be July 4 at 8 p.m.
There is no violence and no strong language in these comedies, but parental judgment should be used for younger children.
Remember, The Bard’s Faire for Kids will be presented on July 19 for our youngest theatre goers. See the calendar in this issue of The Mountain Enterprise for our complete schedule through July. See you at the gazebo!
This is part of the July 03, 2009 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
