Synergy Summit II Wants You

By Patric Hedlund,

Synergy Energy is a beautiful thing. On February 15, you are invited to join in the next step of the Synergy Summit series. Participants work together to develop a shared vision for the future of the Mountain Communities, complete with a robust economy which can provide local employment based on preserving the natural beauties of this region.

On November 16, over 60 participants joined together in a fast-paced, dynamic inventory of the region’s natural resources, including recreational, cultural and ecotourism attractions which may draw visitors from the growing urban centers surrounding us.

Next Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7:00 p.m. in Cuddy Hall, we will continue introducing participants to successful activities already underway on the mountain and host Richard Chapman, new president of the Kern Economic Development Corporation; Rick Davis, Executive Director of the Kern County Board of Trade; Kern County Supervisor Ray Watson and a mountain resident who has worked with the nationwide Main Street revitalization program.

For those who made statements in the “Visions” section in November, please bring along images (photos, projections, brochures, or exhibits) about your special interests, to refresh our knowledge of your activities. Cuddy Hall will be open at 6:00 p.m. with tables available for those who would like to set up displays, put things on the walls, or set out literature. A digital projector will be available, contact us in advance (editor@ MountainEnterprise, subject line: Synergy) to make arrangements.

The Synergy Summit series is sponsored by The Mountain Enterprise and The Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce. The Mountain Communities Town Council is a new sponsor, and the Lake of the Woods Property Owners Association, which owns Cuddy Hall, is our host. If you missed the first event, don’t hesitate to join us now. If you were with us from the beginning, you won’t want to miss this next step to follow through on what we are building in synergy energy for the future of the mountain.
