The Road to Beijing 2007 is well on its way to becoming a reality.

On Saturday, July 7, the Mountain Institute for Kung Fu and Tai Chi will hold a car wash at The Mountain Enterprise office from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please come out and support the school and get your car washed in the bargain. Also, look for the school’s booth at Fiesta Days and the performance of the traditional Lion Dance in the parade.

The mission of the Mountain Institute for Kung Fu and Tai Chi is all about the kids, giving them skills not only in the martial arts but life lessons as well.

A few of the young students still need sponsorships to be able to go to China in August. These boys were at the Frazier Park Market last week selling tickets just to earn enough for one of the boys to get his passport. The Mountain Institute is setting up a fund for these young students called Adopt-a-Kid specifically for the China trip.

If you or your business would like to sponsor a child to compete this summer please call Tom Farrar at 245-5022 or (661) 808-8860. All donations and sponsorships are tax deductible.

The school is also putting together a documentary about the meaning of Kung Fu and Tai Chi in the lives of youth from Frazier Park and the surrounding Mountain Communities. Your business is invited to help in the production and/or promotion of the film. Please call the school at the numbers listed above.

One last thank you goes out to the Frazier Park Market for letting the kids sell tickets outside their store. Be sure to get your car washed on Saturday at The Mountain Enterprise (across the street from Ace Hardware).
