NEENACH, CA (Wednesday, June 25, 2015 at 8 p.m.)—By Jeff Zimmerman—At approximately 6:15 p.m. today Los Angeles County firefighter paramedics responded to a vehicle accident on Highway 138 just east of Interstate 5, near Quail Lake.
The Ford SUV may have possibly blown a tire, those at the scene speculated, causing the vehicle to careen wildly down a 50 foot brush covered embankment, through a barbed wire fence on the south side of Highway 138. The vehicle landed right side up but had serious passenger space intrusion, with the roof and windshield crushed.
A paramedic helicopter from the County Fire Department was summoned to transport the two injured patients to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster. The accident is under investigation by the CHP. This is another serious accident in the Highway 138 Safety Corridor Study area.
