Two on I-5 Arrested for Meth Sales

By Patric Hedlund

A speeding ticket turned into a trip to jail with discovery of 16.7 grams of methamphetamine November 6 when Fort Tejon CHP officer R. Shuck stopped a 1990 Ford Mustang at about 9:50 a.m.

"The driver appeared to be under the influence of narcotics," Shuck reports. Gabriel Bedolla Mendoza, 30 of Riverside was arrested.

Passenger Stefanie Rose Macias of Strathmore was trying to conceal baggies of drugs, Shuck said. Both were booked for possession of drugs for sale, along with several other charges. A 5-year-old child was taken into protective custody.

Kern County sheriffs made additional arrests for methampetamine trafficking in Oildale and Taft in the following week.
