• Recycle your Christmas tree through Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Lebec Transfer Station (300 Landfill Rd., Lebec). Please remove tree stands, nails and decorations.

• The Annual Craft Flaire at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village) continues through New Year’s Eve, or maybe longer. Call the gallery to confirm the end date. They are open Friday–Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

• The Audubon Society’s 118th annual Christmas Bird Count runs through January 5, 2018. Visit http://www.audubon.org/join-christmas-bird-count to find the nearest count near you. Note: The Great Backyard Bird Count is coming up in February, and is local.

• The first Pet Food Giveaway of the year is Monday, Jan. 15, 9–11 a.m. at the Shelter on the Hill Thrift Store (3536 Mt. Pinos Way, Frazier Park). This is for those who cannot afford adequate food for their pets. The distribution continues January 15 until supplies are gone.

• The annual Sanctity of Life Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser to benefit The Vine Pregnancy Center is Sunday, Jan. 21, 5 p.m. at the Frazier Park Recreation Building. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. A guest speaker and raffle prizes are planned. Pre-sale tickets are $10 (call the center for purchase locations, 661.245.2002); $12 at the door.
