• Today is the last day of school for El Tejon Unified School District, Gorman Elementary and Peak to Peak Mountain Charter School until students return from winter break on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.

• The final Pet Food Giveaway of the year is 9–11 a.m. at the Shelter on the Hill Thrift Store (3536 Mt. Pinos Way, Frazier Park). This is for those who cannot afford adequate food for their pets. The distribution will continue while supplies last.

* Tickets to An Old Fashioned New Year’s Eve Bash at PMC need to be reserved by today. The Sunday, Dec. 31 event is 7 p.m.–12:30 a.m. with dancing, drinks and dinner in the Pine Mountain clubhouse. Call 661.242.3788 for details.

• The Annual Craft Flaire at Artworks Community Gallery continues through New Year’s Eve (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village). The gallery is open Friday–Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

• The Audubon Society’s 118th annual Christmas Bird Count runs through January 5, 2018. Visit http://www.audubon.org/content/join-christmas-bird-count to find a count near you and sign up.

• Frazier Mountain Little League’s Early Bird Registration is through December 31. Register at the In the Wings Studio of Dance recital on Saturday, Dec. 23 (see above and on pg. 10), and at rehearsal Friday, Dec. 22. (661.654.9207 or http://www.eteamz.com/FMLittleleague/handouts/).
