Ventura County property taxes due

FRAZIER PARK/LOCKWOOD VALLEY (Monday, November 2, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.)—The Ventura County Treasurer-Tax Collector has notified The Mountain Enterprise of its November 1, 2020 due date for property taxes. Property taxes not paid by December 10, 2020 will become delinquent. See the press release below.

2020-21 VENTURA COUNTY SECURED PROPERTY TAXES – DUE NOVEMBER 1, 2020

Ventura County 2020-21 Secured Property Taxes are due November 1, 2020. Property taxes not paid on or before December 10, 2020 will become delinquent, and property taxes paid after December 10, 2020 will be assessed a late payment penalty fee of 10%. For more information, go to https://www.ventura.org/ttc/. Pursuant to Executive Order by Governor Newsom, the County of Ventura Government Center offices are CURRENTLY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. During this challenging time, your patience is appreciated while our COVID-19 environment changes almost daily.

WAYS TO PAY:

USPS POSTMARKED MAIL: Payments should be remitted to the Tax Collector’s payment processor at PO Box 51179, Los Angeles, CA 90051-5479. Payments may also be mailed to the Tax Collector’s main office at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009-1290. Checks, cashier’s checks and money orders are accepted. The timeliness of mailed payments is measured by the official U.S. Postal Service cancellation mark.

ONLINE: Property tax inquiries and payments may be made online at prop-tax.countyofventura.org/. Payments can be made with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are accepted) or electronic check. Processor’s convenience fees will apply including $1.10 per eCheck transaction and 2.15% per credit card transaction.

DROP BOXES:

OUTSIDE THE HALL OF ADMINISTRATION (BEGINNING NOVEMBER 4, 2020): Tax payments made by check (NO CASH) may be dropped in the Tax Collector’s Drop Box outside the Hall of Administration, at the corner of Parking Lot F (the large parking lot with the solar panels). It is located on the curb, next to the Election ballot box and is available 24/7. Please write your APN/bill number on your check.

INSIDE THE HALL OF ADMINISTRATION: Tax payments made by check (NO CASH) may be dropped in the Tax Collector’s Drop Box inside the Hall of Administration’s main doors, from 8am-5pm, Monday – Friday, at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009. Though the building is closed, the drop box inside the building has been made accessible for property tax payments, with no COVID-19 screening required. The drop box is located on the right-hand side of the hallway of the main entrance, directly outside of the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office. Please write your APN/bill number on your check.

OFFICE HOURS AND LOCATIONS:

IN PERSON: Although the Government Center is currently closed to the public, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s public counters ARE OPEN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY at 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA 93009, 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm, for property tax payments. In keeping with COVID-19 safety precautions, we encourage you to mail in or make your tax payment online and only come in person if necessary. Please call our office to schedule an appointment (805-654-3744) if needed.
While we will assist walk-in customers, please anticipate long wait times outside. Due to COVID-19 precautions, anyone entering the building, except for drop box access, must go through the mandatory COVID-19 health screening, wear a mask and social distance.

EAST COUNTY SATELITE OFFICE: For our East County constituents, unfortunately, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s East County Satellite Office at 625 West Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360, WILL NOT BE IN OPERATION this tax season, as previously anticipated at the printing of your tax bill, due to COVID-19 precautions.
