FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (Thursday, June 11, 2009, 4:30 p.m.)—A house fire reported at 2:07 p.m. has resulted in the death of a Frazier Park woman who lived in the 700 block of Pasadena Trail. Her dog was also found deceased in the house. Tonya Wagenbach-Specht, 66 was identified by the Kern County Coroner’s office Thursday evening. Her family has been notified of the death. An autopsy will be performed Friday.

Upon arrival at the home, Kern County Fire Department crews found light smoke coming from the front of the single family dwelling, according to a press release from KCFD. A fire crew made an initial attack from the front of the property and made entry into the structure to extinguish the fire. As firefighters entered the house they located the body of an adult occupant.

The fire was subsequently knocked down very quickly and contained to the bedroom and area of origin. Firefighters were able to save approximately $100,000 of property value. However, the fire destroyed about $50,000 of property and contents.

There were no reported injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
