Good Neighbora

August 24, 2010
Dear Editor:

I would like to submit a note to thank the Frazier Park Market. As a Pine Mountain resident, I planned to donate to the evacuation center at Frazier Mountain High School. I heard the Red Cross truck broke down in Bakersfield on Tuesday. The market donated four cases of water until the Red Cross truck could arrive. Thanks to them, many people and pets were provided with water the afternoon of August 24.

Thank you, Frazier Park Market, for your community service.

Evacuation Center Report
Gita Nelson of the Mountain Communities SPCA called with an update from the evacuation center at Frazier Mountain High School.

The Red Cross personnel were there in force. Frazier Park Market offered to help with supplies. Ray Watson and Chief Nick Dunn stopped by. Kern County Animal Control dropped off crates for animals. FMHS principal Dan Penner, Nelson said, “has been just wonderful, very accommodating and helpful.”
