Run to the Pines Car Show is resurrected

By Mark Bailey

This year’s Run to the Pines Car Show in Pine Mountain Village is set for Saturday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m.

The talent of Rosetta Burgelin and Conrad Schwarm make it possible to put this together at the 11th hour. The event had been slated for cancellation and the website was taken down, until a new Pine Mountain Club Commercial Property Owners Board of Directors was elected on June 20.

This new board is fully committed to working with our community in a harmonious spirit.

Burgelin and Schwarm say this year’s Run to the Pines will be a fun-filled success.

“It’s not an option to cancel this or any of our other popular events,” board members agreed. They also have plans for resurrecting the Lilac Festival parade and holding a Fall Festival with the POA in the village. Un-cancelling an event versus actually putting one on are two very different propositions.

An increase in participation this year by village merchants and the Pine Mountain Village Merchants Association will be evident as they staff the information booth and sell collectible T-shirts. High Country Engineering will sponsor this year’s trophies.

Grab an application to participate in this show. For entry applications, go to www.runtothepinesautoshow.com or contact Conrad Schwarm at 242-2298. Please bring the whole family to this enjoyable community occasion.

This is part of the July 20, 2012 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
