Storms Cause Crashes on Mountain Roads

LEBEC (Monday, Oct. 4, 4:30 p.m.)— A sudden downpour of rain and hail caused chaos on the Interstate-5 and surface roads this afternoon. Between 4 and 4:30 p.m. approximately 15 separate incidents were reported by California Highway Patrol of cars running into each other or sliding off the roadway. No major injury accidents were reported, however a truck rolled to its side on Frazier Mountain Park Road causing minor injuries to the driver. The Fort Tejon office confirms that the I-5 is currently open to traffic in both directions but multiple accidents are still on the roadway being cleared. Drivers are asked to proceed with caution.
