Weather Update: Sunday, May 29 Sees Snow, Rain, Hail across the Mountain

Weather Update (Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 11:45 a.m.)—Yes, it is spring; and yes, we’ve passed the Mother’s Day snow and the week-after-Mothers-Day-snow. But just days away from June, snow has reappeared from Pine Mountain to Frazier Park. Snow, hail and rain (varying depending upon altitude) greeted residents this morning.

Roads are clear, and the fast moving clouds are broken by patches of sunshine. It is unlikely that the white stuff will stick, so transportation is not hindered.

However, if you have freinds who are gardeners, you may wish to send condolences for those little veggies that went through an unexpected freeze last night. —Patric Hedlund
