AT&T cellular network outage hits southern California

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at 4:15 p.m.)—Kern County Sheriff’s Department has issued the following alert regarding AT&T’s cellular phone network:

“AT&T is reporting a wide spread cellular phone service outage covering most of southern California, including the Kern County area. Text messaging appears to be operational, but cellular phone calls, including 9-1-1 calls, are being affected. The outage may also be affecting internet based AT&T land line service.”

Kern County Sheriff’s Office is advising members of the public who are in need of emergency services to use caution if calling from an AT&T service line and use an alternate phone service if possible until the outage is repaired.
