Attempted Rape in Los Padres Estates–Suspect Still at Large

LEBEC, CA (Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.)–A man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in her driveway late on Monday, Sept. 5 is still being sought by the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, according to Sgt. Mark Brown.

Brown reported that, "On September 5, 2011, at about 11:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Lebec Oaks Road and Lancer Way in Lebec Oaks to check the welfare of a woman screaming for help. A man dressed in dark clothing hopped a fence and grabbed the woman from behind as she walked on her driveway and attempted to sexually assault her. The suspect fled on foot when another person came outside to investigate the screams. 



"The suspect is described as being approximately 5’10” to 6’0” tall and having a slim to medium build. One of the suspect’s hands may have been injured during the struggle," Brown wrote in a description of the incident.
