CUDDY VALLEY, CA (Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at 9:10 p.m.)—Two Kern County Sheriff’s cruisers sped along Cuddy Valley Road with lights flashing Saturday night just before 9 p.m. in response to a call about a medical emergency between Piñon Pines and the Mil Potrero ‘Y’ (up the National Forest Road 9N22 / Tecuya OHV trail leading to Cherry Creek, Salt Creek and Pleito 4×4 campgrounds).

Fire Engine 57 responded, but was unable to traverse the rugged dirt road. Deputies arrived at the turnout north of Cuddy Valley Road and headed up the dirt trail. KCSO deputies confirmed “a nonsuspicious fatality.”
