‘Great ShakeOut’ is Thursday

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 at 3:27 p.m.)— “Drop, cover and hold” on is the slogan for the Great California ShakeOut drill on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Are you ready? All schools in our area will be participating in the ShakeOut. For most, the exercise will commence at 10:17 a.m.  Frazier Park School will announce the exercise to their students at 9 a.m.

This is an excellent time for businesses and individuals in their homes to to make emergency plans in advance, and to know what you will do when the ground starts to shake.

In each of the rooms of your home or work, do you know where you would drop, cover and hold on? Also check supplies of emergency water, first aid, tools, flashlights, batteries and food.

You’ll find more guidance and helpful resources at www.shakeout.org/california. They even have sound and video effects available for you to download, to make your ShakeOut drill more interesting and educational.

This is part of the October 11, 2019 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
