San Andreas Fault Earthquake Tour Saturday

The Ridge Route Communities Museum is offering their popular tour of the San Andreas Earthquake Fault this Saturday, Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. It will be led by Geologist, Tim Elam of the Buena Vista Museum in Bakersfield. The drive-your-own vehicle (or car pool) tour begins at the museum (3515 Park Drive in Frazier Park—behind the post office). There will be an orientation at the museum, and then a drive to the Pleito pull out at the top of Cuddy Valley. The tour will end at approximately I p.m. in Gorman.

Mr. Elam will stop at several locations along the way to point out evidence of fault activity in this region that each of us pass everyday. The largest earthquake in California’s history, the Fort Tejon quake, was centered near here in 1857.

Bring water, sun screen, hats and whatever snacks you might need. There is a $10 per person charge. Please call the museum at 245-7747 to reserve a place.
